Let’s make some creamy NUTELLA POPSICLES!

Nutella-POP-1Now, once in a while I get those sugar cravings which are hard to curb. Especially, when there are pictures of delicious ice-creams floating around social media celebrating National Ice-cream day which was on 19th July. Though I missed the memo, and didn’t end up making on that day, in my defense the ice-cream week is still going on and I want to call it National Ice-cream week.

If you have been reading my blog then it is not hard to conclude that my love for Nutella is growing more than ever. So, it was only fitting that I make some NUTELLA POPSICLES to honor this day. Also, I just need an excuse to eat some of that Nutella 😉 These creamy popsicles are delicious & addictive to say the least and are so easy to make.

Of course, we all know, it is important to eat healthy most (emphasis on most) of the time but you can make these, when you want something comforting, delicious and a little bit decadent.

Popsicle Tray

There are two ways you can make these, one is the simple recipe and the other is an elaborate recipe. The simple recipe consists of 2 – ingredients where you just use Nutella and Whole milk. But if you want to avoid that extra trip to the grocery store then go for the simple one!

The difference between the simple and the elaborate version is in the creamy, fudge like texture. I would strongly recommend the elaborate version because a trip to the store for those extra ingredients is totally worth the creamy texture.

So, let’s get started…

Prep Time: 10 mins
Chill Time: 5 hours (minimum) or overnight
Served: Cold

Ingredients: (Creamy Nutella Popsicle)

 ¾ cup Nutella
 1 cup Whole milk
 ½ cup Sweetened condensed milk
 ½ cup Heavy cream
 ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
 pinch of salt

Ingredients

Method:

  • In a blender, mix all the ingredients until there are no lumps. It is easier to use a blender than an electric hand mixer because there are high chances of the mixture being splashed all over.Pour-Mix

Tip: Whole milk can be substituted for Almond milk or Coconut Milk

  • Pour the mixture into Popsicle molds or cups but leave a little room on the top. If you don’t have Popsicle molds, you can use an ice cube tray to make mini-popsicles. Just cover the entire tray with a plastic wrap and poke small holes in it with a tooth pick or a stick sinking about 3/4th of its length in the liquid. Pop them in the freezer overnight or atleast for 5 hours and allow them to freeze.

Tip: Greasing the measuring bowls/cups of condensed milk and Nutella can help in sliding them out when pouring into the blender.

  • Before removing the popsicles, fill a bowl with warm water. Dip the popsicles in the warm water so that they loosen up and it becomes easy to remove.
  • You can see the creamy fudge – like texture without any formation of ice crystals. Let’s thank sweetened condensed milk for that!

If you make these make sure to share them on Salt Paprika’s facebook page or on Instagram (@salt.paprika) and we can all talk about it…
